Coaching a youth sports team can be a tremendously rewarding experience, giving you the opportunity to help young players learn the game of football & cheer in a fun and safe atmosphere. Our organization is coached and administered by parents who donate their time. Each season, we need more than 75 coaches to lead our players and their teams. The more coaches we have available, the better our Coach-To-Player ratio is, which leads to highly effective practices and more field time on game day.
The Junior Riverhawks are always looking for quality youth football coaches who have a desire to give back to the game of football and a desire to give back to the kids in our community. All tools needed to teach players are provided.

Use the USA Football tools to improve your coaching skills!
Time commitment, character, and integrity are a must. Football experience is preferred for the older teams, but not required for the younger teams or for assistant coaches.
Heads Up Football is the new gold standard for football leagues that can be achieved through implementing USA Football's organizational membership program which is highly focused on four key areas: Coach Education, Heads Up tackling, Concussion Awareness, Equipment Fitting.
Applications, criminal background checks, and child abuse clearances are required for all football coaches, assistant coaches, and ANY volunteer that has direct contact with the kids registered in our program. Our background checks are handled through the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) and are completely confidential.
Upon approval, each coach and assistant coach will need to become USA Football Heads Up Certified and then they'll receive a League ID Card to wear at games.
