Frequently asked questions

Q: How do I know if I am a resident or non-resident?  
A: A resident is anyone who has a home address within the boundaries of the city limits of Holland otherwise known as a City of Holland taxpayer. Confirm if you are a City of Holland resident by clicking here

Q: NO HABLA INGLES?

Q: Am I able to be refunded for a program that I or my child are no longer able to participate in? 
A: You have until the regular registration deadline to request a refund.  If a refund is granted there will be a $10 processing fee for each individual enrollment. If a team cancels by the regular registration deadline, 75% of the league fee will be refunded. After the regular registration deadline has passed for individual or team programs, no refunds will be issued. To submit a refund request please visit the Refund Request on the main page. 

Q: How will I know when a game, practice or event is cancelled due to weather?
A: We have a few ways you will be able to stay informed regarding weather cancellations. Please do not call the Recreation Office as cancellation decisions will be made as soon as possible. Your coach/manager will receive an e-mail or a text message. Holland Recreation will send out a text through the Remind text application that you had the opportunity to join at the beginning of the season. Q: Do you have scholarship programs available for low income families? 
A: Yes! We are more than happy to help out anyone in need with the Sal Perez Youth Scholarship Fund. Click the link below to fill out an online application.  You will be emailed regarding your scholarship status.  Parents are still required to register the participant into the program and pay the registration fee balance.  Applying and receiving a scholarship does not automatically register the participant info the program. Q: How do I know if a registration was completed?
A: There are 3 different ways you can check enrollment status; without calling the Recreation Office.      

1.     A paid receipt will be sent to the email address connected to your account.       
2.     Log onto the account that registration was made.  Under the "My Account" menu:              

A.    Click on "Enrollments" option to view enrollments for this account              
B.    Click on "Order History" to view orders for this account; click on magnifying glass logo to view the enrollments for that transaction

Q: How are teams broken down?
A:  Lakeshore League Programs are split up by school district, then teams will be created via selection process by volunteer coaches.  The selection process is in place to create teams of similar abilities.  To honor this process, team requests are only able to be granted in rare circumstances. (i.e., siblings)
