Youth Biking

Our Youth Biking programs target children and families in our community with the mission of getting more kids on bikes. Holland Parks & Recreation's has partnered with Velo Kids to offer all the following Youth Biking programs.

Community Slow Roll
A community bike ride aimed at getting more kids on bikes. Families can show up and ride, no registration is necessary. Coaches and volunteers will be there to help with managing intersections so families and cyclists can focus on what matters, which is making new friends and connecting with old ones.
Dates:  Summer, 2025


Little Rippers
Velo Kids and the City of Holland are collaborating to provide an awesome opportunity to teach kids in our community about biking. We will meet for 45 minutes to play, be silly, make friends, hear stories, learn and most importantly have FUN on BIKES. Bikes and helmets are available if needed. Parent/guardian presence is required.

Balance Bike Buddies
'Balance Buddies focuses on teaching how to ride balance bikes. However, if your child prefers to  bring their own training wheel bike, they may be asked to use one of our provided balance bike to ensure a consistent experience for  all participants.
Dates & Times: Summer 2025
Suggested Age: 2 - 5
                            Intended for those learning how to use a balance bike
Location: Window on the Waterfront (near Sally Smoly Nature Playscape)
Fee: FREE
Pre-registration is preferred

Pedal Pals
This class is perfect for a young rider who is just learning how to use a pedal bike without training wheels.
Dates & Times: Summer 2025
Suggested Age: 2 - 6
                             Intended for those new to a pedal bike without training wheels.
Location: Window on the Waterfront (near Sally Smoly Nature Playscape)
Fee: FREE
Pre-registration is preferred
