The contest is a fun way for students to kick off the Christmas Holiday. The Rudolph the Pumping Unit is a community staple that sparks memories and traditions for families across East Texas. Students submit artwork of their best interpretation of the pumping unit using various forms of paint, colors, pencils, etc. Each division is awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and the 1st place winner is named the "Youth Grand Marshall" of the Lufkin Christmas Parade. All entries will be featured on the Parks and Recreation Website and Facebook for all to enjoy. The original entries are displayed in the Recreation Center's main lobby.
