5th & 6th Grade Tackle Football

First Game - Saturday, September 7

Final Game - Saturday, October 12

Jerseys - Game jerseys will be handed out this week (week of August 26) at a practice.

Practice Time - Practice nights and times are determined by the volunteer coaches. Teams will practice 2-3 times per week. 

Game Time - Home Games - 9:00AM, 10:30AM, or 12:00PM. Away Games - game times may vary.

Game Schedule - The game schedule for the 5th/6th grade league will be available by Friday, August 30. Once the schedule is finalized, it will be emailed out and made live on the Holland Recreation website. The original schedule will show week 1-4, week 5 & 6 will be added later and based on record and skill level from the first four weeks.

Home Game Dates - The Holland and Holland Christian teams will have home games on Saturday, September 21 (Hope College), September 28 (Hope College), and October 5 (Holland Christian High School). The other game dates will be away games in the Lakeshore area.

Game Locations - Home games for both Holland and Holland Christian will be played at a Hope College or Holland Christian High School. Away games will vary throughout the Lakeshore area.

Picture Day - Pictures will be taken during the week of September 23. More information on picture day will be sent out in the beginning of September.

Picture Packets - Picture packets will be handed out to coaches at a practice or game day in September.

Game Cancellations - If games are cancelled due to inclement weather you can check the cancellation page at this link. Cancellations are traditionally made by 8am. ---> Cancellation Updates

Equipment Needed - Participants are responsible for all required football equipment including mouthpiece, padding, rubber cleats, white helmet, & black pants. Assistance with equipment costs available through Workforce Scholarships to those meeting financial need criteria.

Volunteer Coaches - All Volunteer Coach positions are filled for the 2024 season.

Special Requests - Special requests for team placement are only granted for siblings or extenuating circumstances. 

Team Formations - Teams will be broken down by school district. 

West Michigan Junior Football League - Holland and Holland Christian teams will compete in the West Michigan Junior Football League. For more information on the league, please visit the league website: WMJFL.com
